FINANCE ASSISTANT

PART-TIME, PERMANENT ROLE

BASED IN OUR BREWERY* AT 1-2 DYLAN RD, LONDON, SE24 0HL.

*we operate a Covid-secure workplace; role is based in the brewery and is not homebased (regulations permitting).

The role

We are looking for a driven and organised Finance Assistant to join our team on a permanent part-time contract from April 2021. The ideal candidate would be able to commit to 9am-12.30pm 5 days a week (Mon-Fri).

Reporting to the Finance Manager the role will have responsibility for maintaining the purchase and sales ledger, preparation of supplier payments and reconciling bank accounts. The role requires an individual who is a real team player, a strong communicator, someone with excellent attention to detail who can adhere to tight deadlines.

Starting ASAP, preferably you will be immediately available.

Key tasks of the role include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Managing accounts inbox, ensuring great communication with external and internal stakeholders as well as resolving any queries.
  • Maintain AR + AP ledgers to a high standard.
  • Regular bank reconciliations.
  • Assisting with credit control.
  • Preparation of weekly payment run.
  • Reviewing staff expenses.
  • Assisting with preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and month end FA report.
  • Participate in the year-end physical count of inventories and fixed assets.
  • Any other adhoc duties required by the Finance Manager.

Essential skills & qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of AP and AR processes.
  • Highly numerate, analytical, highly organised with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Confident communicator, polite and professional.
  • Able to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office – Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.

Great to have:

  • Accountancy/ Finance degree or relevant qualification.
  • Knowledge of Xero + Receipt Bank advantageous.
  • Previous FMCG experience.
  • A keen interest in craft beer.
  • Experience complying with regulatory bodies (e.g. HMRC).

PRODUCTION BREWER

The role

Are you passionate about a pint, do you have a flair for fermentation? More importantly: do you want to join a fast growing brewery at an exciting time in their growth? If so, you could be just what we need. We’re seeking an experienced Production Brewer with an eye for detail, a relentless commitment to making fantastic beers, and the desire to take their career to the next level.

The Production Brewer will work as part of our production team to help produce, package and ensure the quality and consistency of our range of beers. They will receive relevant training and support to advance their skills and knowledge.

Skills & Qualification Required

  • A passion for making great quality beer!
  • 2+ years of experience working in a commercial brewery is essential.
  • Brewing certificates or relevant educational qualifications in brewing or a related field.
  • Understanding of brewing, packing and CIP processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and process.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy loads (this job involves heavy lifting).
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction and guidance from senior brewers.
  • Forklift truck driving experience.
  • Legal right to work in the UK

Key Tasks

This role is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join our growing production team.  Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Brewing our fantastic beers at our three production sites.
  • Monitoring brewing and fermentation and keeping accurate records of the process.
  • Rotational packaging shifts into keg, can & bottle.
  • Cleaning and sterilising vessels, packaging equipment and production areas.
  • Perform general maintenance as required.
  • Receiving and handling raw materials.
  • Assisting with stock control and procurement.
  • Weekend checks on a rota (including beer checks and necessary processing).
  • Occasionally representing the brewery at trade events, tours in the weekend Tap Room.
