Current Opportunities

Finance Manager – FULL TIME

The Role:

This is an exciting new role to help us in the latest phase of our expansion, following a 2017 partnership with the global brewers Heineken.

The Brixton Brewery Finance Manager will report the Directors and provide financial leadership that supports top-line growth and management of costs.

This is an opportunity to grow a small business, it means being a key figure in our overall strategic planning while also being willing to get into the operational detail that is critical to get right in a start-up environment.

It will suit someone who has an entrepreneurial background, someone who has worked as part of a start-up or someone looking to be part of something different to a corporate finance role.

Key Duties:

  • Developing an annual and strategic budgetary and forecast planning process
  • Supporting decisions with financial insight (e.g. pricing & procurement costs)
  • Producing and understanding Management Accounts
  • Managing financial systems and processes (e.g. reporting and accounting, payroll, expenses, audit and compliance)
  • Supporting effective procurement across all aspects of the business
  • Compliance and risk management
  • Mitigation of financial risk

Essential skills & qualifications:

  • Highly organised
  • Disciplined at creating and managing processes
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent computational skills (especially Excel and accounting software)
  • Able and willing to operate at both Strategic and Operational levels
  • Excited by the fast pace of a start-up environment
  • Great communication
  • Relevant qualification, ACCA, CIMA or similar

Great to have:

  • Experience of working in a brewery or the drinks/hospitality industry
  • A keen interest in craft beer and beer production

The Role:

This is an exciting new role to help us in the latest phase of our expansion, following a 2017 partnership with the global brewers Heineken.

The Brixton Brewery Brand Marketing Manager will lead a strategic and grassroots level initiative to develop and oversee delivery of our marketing strategy. Working closely with our Sales Team for information on customer insights and activation, the Manager will develop, carry out and measure a Marketing Strategy alongside the Brewery Founders, Sales Team and a Marketing & Brand Team to help achieve the goals of the strategy.

This creative leadership role will ensure consistency of voice, visual identity and values both externally and internally through our Collective multidisciplinary group, which generates new ideas, products, and shares information within the Brewery.

The overall deliverable goal of the role is to create and implement exciting ideas for increasing our brand profile and visibility, and creating opportunities and experiences for people to develop an affinity for our brand, making Brixton Brewery the local beer of South London, while helping us translate that success farther afield, throughout the UK and beyond.

Key Duties:

  • Own the Marketing Strategy – formulate, execute and measure effectiveness
  • Chair ‘The Collective’ – driving our innovation
  • Lead activity to ensure Brixton brand and products remain relevant to consumers
  • Monitor the external category and customer environment to ensure that the product and pricing remains competitive
  • Develop and run an annual marketing plan (mainly BTL) and hold a BTL budget
  • Support in large tenders
  • Manage the implementation of the Brixton Brewery Brand
  • Manage and contribute to social media strategy and content

Essential skills & qualifications:

  • Curiousity and creativity
  • Interested in start-up world, willing to get involved at all levels
  • Able to operate at strategic and operational level
  • Strong organisational and management skills
  • Creative, comfortable with customers and consumers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience leading a team
  • A track record in building a brand from a start-up through expansion (even if not in the drinks industry)
  • Experience managing a marketing budget and allocating resources for maximum impact

Great to have:

  • Experience of working in a brewery or the drinks/hospitality industry
  • An interest in craft beer and beer production
  • Experience running innovative ad and social media campaigns or campaigns with strategic partners (e.g. sponsorship)
  • Experience building and maintaining sponsorship relations
  • Experience organising and running events
  • Excellent contacts in complementary areas – e.g. PR, music industry, the arts, etc.
